TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE

First written record on the Traditional Chinese medicine is about 3000 years old. It is so called “Yellow Emperor Book”, where the emperor asks his physician about problems of medicine and health.
Traditional Chinese medicine is based on completely different principals than the western medicine. It considers not only a physical problem, but also a patient’s soul and his (her) connection with the nature and entire universe.
Basic curative procedures of Traditional Chinese medicine are acupuncture (acupressure) and herbs, massages and physical exercises are supporting methods.

An eastern medicine is based on the existence of a vital energy, which creates substance and spirit, things and nature. It streams through a body in inner and outer paths – meridians.
Massages use 12 basic meridians, each for one body organ.

A Chinese philosophy and also a medicine use the yin – yang principal – i.e. the principal of the opposites. The reign of harmony exists only if the opposites are balanced. It means the harmony of a body, mind, world…
If one of the principals is overbalanced, a problem begins.

Another principal of the Traditional Chinese medicine is the theory of five elements: wood, fire, ground, metal and water.
Each element has a particular season, body organ, sense, flavour, emotion etc. assigned.
Examination of the relationships of single elements (i.e. also organs) together with the outside influences (e.g. weather, diet etc.) creates the base of a diagnosis and a resulting therapy.
